2nd Annual Pants Off For Prostate Cancer
Pants Off for Prostate Cancer is an edgy and innovative blockbuster fundraising and mandatory "pants off" event that is putting the focus on the "below the belt" nature of prostate cancer. Guests are required to check their pants at the door and celebrate their new found "pantslessness" in support of prostate cancer research and awareness and in honour of the hundreds of thousands of men and there families whose lives have been afflicted by this disease.
Last year's sold out evening has prompted an even larger and more exciting event for 2011, to be held on Wednesday, March 30 at the trendy downtown Toronto Burroughes Building. This year's event, Pants Off 2: Risky Business, is destined to attract 350+ of Toronto's most prominent pants-off partiers, including downtown professionals from the financial, legal, marketing, and creative industries, celebrity VIPs, and urban tastemakers.
Join the party! Do good, feel good, and be seen (well, at least from the waist down) doing it!
Benefitting Prostate Cancer Canada
Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men, with rates of incidence and mortality similar to those of breast cancer in women. 1 in 6 Canadian men will be diagnosed with the disease during their lifetime and this number is expected to rise to 1 in 4 within a decade. Nearly 25,000 Canadian men and their families will have to deal with the reality of a prostate cancer diagnosis this year alone.
This event honours the thousands of men and their families whose lives have been afflicted by this disease.
The good news is that over 90% of prostate cancer cases are curable if detected and treated in their earliest stages, which means that early detection is key. Beginning at age 40, men should establish a baseline PSA (prostate specific antigen) score. At age 50, men should begin regular annual testing.
